What you can do for us
Picking an agency is a difficult task. You want someone to listen, understand, conceptulise and above all, deliver. Here are a few tips to make an agency partnership easier and more enjoyable for you.
Get to know your agency well to help them to understand you. Ask questions, give information, laugh, don’t be afraid to say ‘no I don’t like that’, send examples of images, campaigns or ideas you like – let them know as much as possible so they get a feel for what will work best for you.
To get the most from the partnership:
• Communicate openly and frankly with your agency
• Invest time briefing the agency at the start of the relationship
• Involve your agency in developing your marketing plan
• Review each project highlighting opportunities for improvement
• Advise the agency of projects as soon as practicable
Share your vision
Share your vision with the agency.
Support this with any written documents you have that explain your organisations ‘big picture,’ such as your:
• Business Plan
• Marketing Plan
• Annual Calender of Marketing Activities
• Organisational Structure
Provide brand imagery
The agency needs good quality electronic copies of your brand imagery, including:
• Your logo and positioning statements and/or buy lines
• Photographs that support the brand image
• Logos for any project partners that need acknowledgement
Create a clear brief
Each project needs a clear brief. This ensures time and money is not wasted by either party.
This should include:
• A brief summary of the project, objectives and deadlines
• Clear description of target markets and deadlines
• Distribution methods e.g. trade show, postal, brochure rack)
• What you expect to provide e.g. logo’s, photographs, copy)
Budget :
• What you need from the agency e.g. design, copy, print)
• Key contacts e.g. your project co-ordinator, project partners)
If you have any questions, be sure to ask your agency and if it’s us, we will always deliver the answers.
